Very Inviting!

Our wedding invitations were designed by Preston's Stationery using Envelopments paper and pockets. I fell in love with pocketfold invitations when I first started browsing wedding blogs after we got engaged. I was so excited to create our own! Brian and I got to sit down and pick out all of the individual elements that would go into the invitations. I love how they turned out, and we have received so many compliments on them from our guests!

I didn't think I was the type of bride who would get all excited over paper...how much I have enjoyed planning our wedding has surprised even me! :)

Good Eats

I absolutely love our caterer, Dean & Brown. Not only have they been super helpful in making sure all of the details are put together for our reception, but their food at our tasting this past December was absolutely incredible! Brian and I, along with my mom and dad, tasted so many delicious dishes and the food rivaled anything I've had at a restaurant.

I made up these menu cards to sit at each place setting using a template I found online. Here is the full spread:

Cocktail Hour
Fresh Fruit, Crudite of Garden Vegetables, and Assorted Cheese Display
Maryland Crab Dip with Pita Triangles
Italian Bruschetta
Cocktail Meatballs in Sweet and Sour Sauce
BBQ Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon

Dinner
Classic Caesar Salad
House Garden Salad with Balsamic
Vinaigrette and Ranch Dressing
Herb Crusted Top Round of Beef with Her Demi-glace and Horseradish Cream
Boordy Apple Braised Chicken (Stuffed chicken braised in Boordy apple wine and garnished with sauteed apple slices --> Boordy is my favorite MD vineyard and the site of my bachelorette party this past weekend!)
Penne Pasta with Vodka Cream Sauce
Seasonal Sauteed Vegetables
Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Our cake is being made by a local baker, Desserts by Rita. Their cakes are so yummy and moist that I've stopped in a couple of times since our tasting to pick up a slice. :) We are having a three-tier wedding cake and an assortment of cupcakes! I mean, as trendy as they are, I had to have cupcakes at my wedding. I made the signs that will explain all of the flavors, as well.

Cake
Bottom Tier--> Vanilla Cake with Raspberry Buttercream
Middle Tier --> Vanilla and Fudge Cake with Mocha Buttercream
Anniversary Tier --> Fudge Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream :)

Cupcakes
Coconut Cake with Coconut Buttercream (Brian's pick!)
Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream (My favorite flavor combo)
Raspberry Devils Cake with Raspberry Buttercream (My sister, the maid of honor's, request)

So many people have told me that on your wedding day, you're too busy to eat. I really hope that isn't the case with all of this delicious food! I know Brian and I will do our best to enjoy as much of it as we can. :)

Our Save the Dates!

Our Save the Dates were ordered from www.invitationbox.com and sent to our guests at the end of October. It took a long time for Brian and I to decide on one of our engagement pictures to use. We both picked our favorites and this is the one we compromised on for the Save the Date. It's so cool that it was taken on the water a couple hundred feet from where we're going to tie the knot!

I was so excited when I got these in the mail, and wanted to send them out like right that minute! But, of course, I made things more difficult for myself by ordering a custom return address stamp from Etsy (for only $7!!) and stamping the back of every envelope. It was quite a process!

After a couple of evenings painstakingly addressing envelopes instead of doing homework, they were finally ready to go!

I loved getting texts and phone calls saying that our Save the Dates had been received, and we got such a positive response from all of our friends and family. :)
